(Oxford), 2 July, 1862 (1s. Joseph, of Thorpe-en-le-Soken, Essex), F.R.S., created a baronet 27 June, 1866, president College of Physicians 1862-5, life governor King's College, London, physician Middlesex Hospital 1827-40, physician extraordinary to the Queen 1859-70, and in ordinary 1870, until his death 11 Dec., 1882.
