SAUCE FOR GINGER BREAD

One cup of sugar,
One tablespoonful of butter,

Creamed together. Add one-half cup of cream or milk and five tablespoonsful of wine. Stir constantly while cooking until dissolved and creamy. Flavor to taste with vanilla or nutmeg.
