Anna Komnene

Anna Komnene or Comnena (Greek: Άννα Κομνηνή, Anna Komnēnē; was a Byzantine princess and scholar, daughter of the Byzantine emperor Alexios I Komnenos and Irene Doukaina. She is one of the first known female historians, having written the Alexiad.
