beer exporter and a clerk in the English Tudor state bureaucracy who was the compiler of the Anthony Roll, an illustrated list of navy vessels. The Anthony Roll was prepared by Anthony as a high-ranking official at the Ordnance Office, the government body responsible for supplying the armed forces with artillery.
