Clifton Holman Amsbury
Clifton H. Amsbury (July 16, 1910-May 28, 2007) was an American anthropologist. After working as a social worker, he served in the Spanish Civil War in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, and in the US Army in World War II. After retiring from the California State Employment Office in 1971 he taught anthropology for twenty years at Contra Costa Community College. He was one of the founders of American science fiction fandom, having been one of the original members of the Science Correspondence Club in 1929.
