Julia Crawford
(c. 1800 – c. 1855)

Native of County Cavan, Ireland, and author of a number of poems for the Metropolitan Magazine. Most of these are lost, except for Kathleen Mavourneen, which was popularized by Frederick Nicholls Crouch who set it to music in 1837.

Crawford published her poems under the name Mrs. Crawford. Crouch identified her in an interview as Marion Crawford, but other sources give her name as variously Annie Crawford, Julia Crawford, Louise Macarthey Crawford, or Louisa Matilda Jane Montague Crawford.
