Seems to have attended Boys High School (Otago) and finished there c.1882, so date of birth c.1864. No evidence of birth 1859-66 in NZ [1]
- 1889 is awarded BSc[2], and they usually follow something else.
New Zealand newspaper search for "F. B. Allan" in Otago just show young adult activities in a small town.[3]
