£2000 GIFT TO TRINITY COLLEGE, OXFORD

Mr. Gabriel Stanley Woods of Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex, retired civil servant, so of the late Henry Woods, president of Trinity College, Oxford, and aster of the Temple, and of Margaret L. Woods, the poetess and novelist, left £39,378 gross, £32,284 net (duty paid, £10,849).

He left £2000, on the death of his wife to Trinity College, Oxford, to constitute the "Henry and Margaret Woods Memorial Fund" to buy books for the college library, or for other purposes in connexion with the library; the watercolour picture of the Master's House, The Temple, painted by Mrs. A. B. E. Jardine (afterwards Lady Bax-Ironside) in 1907 to the Honourable Societies of the Inner and Middle Template "ad I express the hope that it may be placed in the Master's House"; £100 to the London Library "for the purchase of foreign books", and £200 on the death of his wife to the Church of England Children's Society "in commemoration of the devoted work of my aunt Mrs. Emily T. Murray Smith for that society."
