• Checking Crockford's for 1868, no Steadman, though there is a John Stedman, Pembroke College (BA, 1851), in Chippenham, Wilts.
• clergydatabase [1] doesn't show anything obvious

This Rev. Stedman’s father, also John, was also in orders, and alive at the time of the magazine publication. However, extensive googling didn’t turn up any reason to think either of them ever contributed to periodicals. Levana Taylor (talk) 12:51, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
