Princeton Thesis edit

Page (ii) of Mrs. Obama's thesis states "I authorize Princeton Univesity to lend this thesis to other institutions or individuals for the purpose of scholarly research," and "I further authorize Princeton University to reproduce this these by photocopying or by other means, in total or in part, at the request of other institutions or individuals for the purpose of scholarly research"; the cover reads "(c) Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, 1985."

How can we go about getting authorization to reproduce it here? Do we have to request permission, or can it be posted straight away? ~ Tonyfuchs1019 9:52, 3 December 2008 (EST)

That's not a free license; it gives no permission to do anything to anyone besides Princeton, and even that only for scholarly research.--Prosfilaes (talk) 23:01, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Copyrights edit

As Michelle Obama is not an employee of the Federal Government, PD-US-Gov would seem to be wrong here; there's no reason we can host anything of hers here, is there?--Prosfilaes (talk) 22:59, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I went through a tidy up where we have had issues of works assigned as {{PD-USGov}} for non-employees (especially on this page), and was shown that some of these pages are now licensed under {{CC-Whitehouse.gov}} from http://whitehouse.gov/copyright. Where they were shown as being source there, I have recovered those documents, though there will be others that we need to recover, we will need the source data. So as the urls are supplied, I will pull the documents back and re-license them. Billinghurst (talk) 02:05, 23 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
