Categorisation of births and deaths edit

@Samwilson: With the module and categorisation of circa deaths. Do you think that it is reasonable that for such a categorisation that we just say the year predicted, and forget the circa. Having to create a new dynamic set of circa births for a year, and then approximate to a decade seems wasteful. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:29, 3 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Billinghurst: Yes, definitely. I wondered about transforming them into decades, e.g. "c. 1945" becomes "1940s", although that can lose some detail with "c. 1890" becomes "1890s" because the former also includes some of the 1880s. So maybe making it a hard "1890" as you say is the way to go. —Sam Wilson 06:33, 3 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
No perfect answer, and truly the categorisation is somewhat trivial, though it should mean with align elsewhere, so if it pushes someone to edit, then so be it. It also allows for some sources hard-dating, and some qualifying. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:46, 3 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
