The Pleasures of Memory
The version of the book that has been transcribed is not dated. However, it seems to be referred to in a list of books by the publisher dated 1873. The earliest likely date is based on the birth date (plus an assumed 20 years) of those artists credited with the illustrations. I have not been able to confirm dates for all of them but several have DNB and/or Wikipedia entries. The latest of these is Edmund Morison Wimperis, born 1835, giving an earliest date of around 1855. It might be possible to narrow this range if the date that the engraving technique referred to on page 5 was introduced could be confirmed. Chrisguise (talk) 06:17, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
