GLO'SHIRE ARTIST'S DEATH
Mr. James Afflech Shepherd. former "Punch" artist, died last night at his home, Woodmancote Manor, near Cirencester. He was 78.
Mr. Shepherd invented illustrated "zig-zags at the Zoo," which appeared in the Strange magazine. He joined the staff of "Punch" in 1893. In 1911, Mr. Shepherd was awarded the Gold Meal at the International Exhibition of humorous art at Rivoli, Italy.
