These Carols are given on the same principle as those which, a short time since, we published for Christmas-Tide. The music, which is unaltered (except for some omissions in the twenty-second Carol), ranges from the thirteenth to the sixteenth century. The words are, for the most part, in imitation of the general tone of ancient Easter Carols, Sequences, and Lays. A more detailed account will be found in the preface to the harmonized edition.
