The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 repealed and replaced most of the 1993 constitution, but a few of its provisions did however remain in force:

as amended on 1 January 1998 by the Financial and Fiscal Commission 1993 Constitutional Provisions Repeal Act, 1997 and on the commencement of the budgetary provisions of the 1996 constitution.
as amended on 16 October 1998 when section 108 lapsed on the coming into force of the National Prosecuting Authority Act, 1998
as amended on 26 June 1999 when section 245(4) lapsed three years after the last of the 1996 municipal elections
as amended on 23 November 2001 by the Repeal of Volkstaat Council Provisions Act, 2001
as amended on 14 December 2001 by the Termination of Integration Intake Act, 2001
