Copleston : educated, at Merton College, Oxford : married a. daughter of the late Archbishop Trench : Fellow and Tutor of St. John's College, Oxford : was appointed Bishop of Colombo in 1875 : translated to Calcutta and became Metropolitan of India in 1902.
