Executive Order 369-B

The following is the description from the Department of War's General Order No. 196 of 1905, not the actual order text, which was in the form of an approval of a recommendation from the Acting Secretary of War.

The President of the United States, by order dated November 14, 1905, pursuant to section 12 of the act of Congress approved July 1, 1902, entitled "An act temporarily to provide for the administration of the affairs of civil government in the Philippine Islands, and for other purposes" (32 Stat. L., 691), reserved for the purpose of a target range for the post of Zamboanga, Mindanao, Philippine Islands, all that part of the public land at the western or furthermost end of the "Mesa," near Zamboanga, Mindanao, Philippine Islands, extending on both sides of the main road, and included within metes and bounds described as follows, viz:

Beginning at the initial point which is the center of the cross-section of a four-inch cement sewer pipe, buried two-thirds of its length below the surface of the ground, the pipe being about one hundred and fifty meters south from the road; thence N. 51° 51′ E., a distance of one hundred and eighty-seven meters to a concrete monument marked "U. S. B.," the top of which is about two feet above ground; thence N. 40° 49′ E., a distance of fifty-seven meters; thence N. 15° 23′ W., a distance of seventy-seven meters; thence N. 42° 23′ E., a distance of one hundred and one and five-tenths meters; thence N. 50° 54′ E., a distance of sixty-nine meters; thence N. 51° 31′ E., a distance of one hundred and fifty-eight meters; thence N. 51° 23′ E., a distance of twenty-four and five-tenths meters; thence N. 33° 11′ W., a distance of one hundred and ninety meters; thence N. 27° 25′ W., a distance of two hundred meters; thence N. 71° 34′ W., a distance of twenty-eight and five-tenths meters; thence N. 12° 51′ W., a distance of one hundred and thirty-four meters; thence S. 70° 57′ W., a distance of thirty-one meters; thence N. 39° 42′ W., a distance of twenty-two and five-tenths meters; thence S. 34° 31′ W., a distance of one hundred and three meters; thence S. 53° 56′ W., a distance of one hundred and four meters; thence S. 87° 22′ W., a distance of thirteen meters; thence S. 28° 2′ 18″ W., a distance of four hundred and twenty-six and five-tenths meters; thence S. 53° 43′ W., a distance of three hundred and twenty-eight meters; thence S. 53° 50′ W., a distance of one hundred and three meters; thence S. 19° W., a distance of fifty-four and five-tenths meters; thence S. 83° 13′ 30″ E., a distance of two hundred and twenty-eight meters; thence S. 78° 3′ 30″ E., a distance of two hundred and eight meters; thence S. 10° 54′ E., a distance of seventy and twenty-five one-hundredths meters; thence S. 89° 28′ E., a distance of one hundred and forty meters, to point of beginning. Area: 37.85 hectares. The bearings are magnetic; distances by stadia. The foregoing reservation is shown on a map marked "Proposed Target Range. The Mesa. Zamboanga, P. I.
