EXECUTIVE ORDER,
No. 53


In having been reported that Dr. Galicano Apacible, governor-elect of Batangas, is ineligible to hold said office, pursuant to the provisions of paragraph eight of section twelve of Act Numbered Fifteen hundred and eighty-two, as amended, the Honorable W. Gilbert, judge of the Court of First Instance at large, is hereby directed to make an investigation for the purpose of determining the eligibility of said governor-elect for said office, giving him opportunity to present evidence in his behalf, and to submit his report to the Governor-General at the earliest opportunity, together with the evidence taken. The special commissioner herein appointed may hold the investigation at such place or places as he may deem advisable, having due regard to the convenience of the witnesses, and shall take such evidence as shall to him seem material and necessary.
