Former legislator Otto Kotouc dies

HUMBOLDT, Neb. (AP|)–Funeral arrangements were pending Wednesday for Otto Kotouc Sr., 88, Humboldt banker and former member of the Nebraska Legislature.

He died Tuesday in a Humboldt hospital after a long illness.

Kotouc was the recipient of the Nebraska Builder Award for distinguished service to the University of Nebraska in 1958 and was a past president of the Nebraska Bankers Association.

In 1970, the university gave him an honorary doctorate of humane letters.

He was co-founder of the Home State Bank of Humboldt and served as chairman of the bank board when he died.

He was a member of the house in the old State Legislature for two terms and also served for four terms in the unicameral.

Survivors include his widow, Camille; one son, Otto Jr., and five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were pending.
