I have been reminded to make these declarations:
Curly Quotes
edit
- Unless anybody has a serious problem, I suggest all pages within this project use so-called “curly” quotations, i.e.:
- “”, or ‘’ in place of "", '' or singular stand-alone forms, e.g. “Judson’s” instead of “Judson's”. MODCHK (talk) 03:46, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- Item unconditionally withdrawn, as it has been pointed out to me as not being within scope of official policy. MODCHK (talk) 08:29, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- “”, or ‘’ in place of "", '' or singular stand-alone forms, e.g. “Judson’s” instead of “Judson's”. MODCHK (talk) 03:46, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Multi-Columnar Format
editMany pages in the original scans within this project utilise a dual-column layout. As a purely cosmetic effect, I propose use of {{multicol}} thus:
<noinclude>{{multicol|line=1px solid black}}</noinclude>,
<noinclude>{{multicol-break}}</noinclude>, or
<noinclude>{{multicol-end}}</noinclude>,
—with advantage being taken wherever possible of header and footer fields in order to to minimise free-standing <[/]?noinclude>s.
By this means, all Page: space should look at least somewhat similar to the original scans, yet at the same time should “unfold” when (later) transcluded into the normally expected “single-column” layout.
For example, see Page:Australian enquiry book of household and general information.djvu/113. MODCHK (talk) 03:46, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
