@Londonjackbooks: Hi. Ta for the fix. I'm not able to get some labels for Pages to display in mainspace; the hyphen at blank pages does, but the "plate" numbering does not. Maybe you can see my error, or know of an issue. Cheers, CYGNIS INSIGNIS 12:10, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Cygnis insignis: Not sure! I compared transclusion/pagelisting &c. with what I had done with Childe Harold (where "frontispiece" renders in the Main), and I'm not sure why your work won't render similarly. I gave a couple things a try with pagination but reverted myself since they were not fruitful. I'll keep thinking. Londonjackbooks (talk) 14:04, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Londonjackbooks: Thanks for trying, I hoped you would spot a silly error instead of confirming something odd. Interestingly, the labels appear when the sidebar 'display option' is toggled to "within text". CYGNIS INSIGNIS 14:51, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Cygnis insignis: Sorry to interrupt... hoping you are discovering a solution! I know you are partial to using 'frameless' &c. for images, being that it is sufficient and merely a click away from a better view, but I have grown fond of the {{FI}} template for certain works. It works nicely with mobile & other devices of differing sizes for it adjusts images according to proportion of device (if I've explained myself correctly). Only a suggestion :) Londonjackbooks (talk) 17:01, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Does it honour the user's preference for image size? CYGNIS INSIGNIS 17:34, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Cygnis insignis: I don't know? I would need more info. Preference that is set by a user? of Wikisource only? I've not come across a need/desire to set any preference myself, nor do I know how. Londonjackbooks (talk) 18:47, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Apologies, a petulant response when you don't know the background. The point is that it does not, and that is a concern for accessibility. I am saddened when deprecated usage at wikipedia, consensus that was reached by the investment of great amounts of time, discussion and angst by users is resurrected at this little sister. There are those who feel policy elsewhere is wrong, and hope to push it through here, There are also people (boys) who larp and troll these 'issues', resurrecting arguments decades old, and enjoy watching the drama that swirls around them. Here is the policy (not guideline) at the big sister: Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Displayed_image_size. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 19:30, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Cygnis insignis: Apologies if after so many years here there are still many gaps in my knowledge of how things work. I will read, digest and consider. Thanks, Londonjackbooks (talk) 19:39, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Meet this fellow, who has an interesting story attached to his portrait. It looks like a cartoon, but it is very accurate (they give this me look, 10 feet away on forest paths).
@Cygnis insignis: Thanks for sharing that. I will give it a read in the morning; about to call it a night. Have you seen work by Rachel Hollis? Australian Bird & Wildlife Art. You can Google her name. Beautiful drawings. I follow her on social media to view her latest. Londonjackbooks (talk) 20:59, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I needed to add a term to find that Rachel Hollis. The work is great and the name familiar, always pleasing that someone turns their talents to promoting other living things. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 11:51, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Ah, sorry... I should have Google searched myself before suggesting. Glad you found it anyway :) Londonjackbooks (talk) 12:07, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm easily distracted when search results produce other topics I am interested in, of which there are too many. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 12:09, 3 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

@ShakespeareFan00: Hi, pinging you about the problem above. I've noticed your talents in setting up and manipulating indexes, and saw your examination of a bug/feature at MediaWiki_talk:PageNumbers.js while trying to find the problem. Can I ask for your assistance in , firstly, checking I haven't made an obvious error, then identifying what might be suppressing the page numbers at content pages.
