Interesting, there appears to be a typographical error in the source document. The contents page lists "Chapter IV" starting on page 52, but page 52 contains the beginning of "Chapter V". The chapter titles appear correct though. I surmise that the contents page is incorrect, as the Introduction does not have a chapter number there, but does in the actual body of the text. It's probably just a blooper on the part of the publisher, but it is possible this is a frankenstein DJVU spliced together from two different editions. I entirely agree; the contents page makes no allowance for the fact the "Introduction" is in fact simply the alternate title of "Chapter I". And in support of the stitched-monster idea, please note the funny insertion of a blank page and Plate II in between pages 6 and 7! MODCHK (talk) 08:33, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
