Authoress's lonely death

"Death from natural causes" was the verdict returned at an inquest yesterday on Miss Anne Isabella Robertson, 75, who was found dead at her residence, 1 Herbert road, Ballsbridge, on Monday morning. Deceased, who lived alone, would appear to hve been dead fro some days, the body presenting the appearance of having been attacked by rats.

John White, 22 Turner's cottages Shelbourne road, gardener, deposed that he was in the habit of doing work for deceased. He last saw her alive on Monday week. When he went back to her house by appointment on Thursday last he could get no answer. On Monday morning he went to the house again, and as he could not get in he informed the police. The police found thr door open and upstairs found deceased lying between two beds. He knew deceased for five years, and she lived alone since her sister died three years ago.

Mr. Lyster, deceased's solicitor, stated that she was an authoress, and Station Sergeant Grey said that over £100 in cash was found in the house.
