Penryn and Falmouth since 1880, private secretary to Marquis of Hartington, secretary of state for India 1880-3, educated at Eton, a student of the Middle Temple 15 April, 1873, called to the bar 29 June, 1881 (eldest son of Sir William Baliol Brett, Knt., one of H.M.'s judges); born 30 June, 1852; married 24 Sept., 1879, Eleanor, youngest dau. of late Sylvain Van de Weyer, of New Lodge, Windsor, sometime Belgian Minister at the Court of St. James.
