Carey, Sir Peter Stafford, knighted 23 Nov., 1863, M.A., St. John's Coll., Oxon, 1829 (1st class classics), bailiff of Guernsey since 1845, recorder of Dartmouth 1836-45, judge of Wells borough court 1838-45, of the Counsel to the Court of the Queen's palace of Westminster since 1845, professor English law Univ. Coll., London, 1838-45, author of Borough Court Rates, a student of the Middle Temple 18 April, 1826, called to the bar 25 June, 1830 (only son of Peter Martin Carey, Esq., of Taunton, Somerset); born 7 April, 1803; married 16 Feb., 1835, Emily Aubrey, dau. of late Lt.-Col. Richard Warren, Scots fusilier guards, etc., and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
