Salford 1868-80, knighted 18 March, 1880, treasurer Legal Practitioners' Society, one of H.M.'s lieutenants for the city of London, author of The New System of Practice and Pleading, of Real Property Acts 1874-5-6, Reports of Cases Determined in Supreme Court of Judicature, lt.-coI. commanding 11th Middlesex (railway) rifle volunteers since 1883, a student of the Inner Temple 3 June, 1857 (then aged 24), certificate of honour 1st class Mich., 1864, exhibition Trin., 1865, called to the bar 9 June, 1865, Q.C. 24 March, 1880 (youngest son of late Matthew Charley, of Finaghy House and Woodbourne, co. Antrim); born 5 March, 1833 (see Foster's Baronetage).
