Conant, Edward Nathaniel, B.A., St. John's Coll., Oxon, 1842, M.A. 1845, from Rugby, J.P., D.L. Rutland, high sheriff 1867, chairman of quarter sessions since 1882, lord of the manors of Lyndon, Aslackby, and Dowsby, co. Lincoln, a student of the Inner Temple 4 Nov., 1840 (then aged 20), called to the bar 6 June, 1845 (eldest son of John Edward Conant, Esq., of London); born 15 May, 1820; married 27 Aug., 1844, Gertrude Mary, 2nd dau. of Rev. Charles Proby, canon of Windsor; she died 27 March, 1866, leaving issue.
