Kent, It.-col. 1st Cinque Ports volunteers since 1878, a student of the Inner Temple 28 Jan., 1870 (then aged 21), called to the bar 6 June, 1874 (eldest son of George Campion Courthope, Esq., of Whiligh, Sussex); born 3 Nov., 1848; married 21 Sept., 1876, Elinor Sarah, 2nd dau. of Lt.-Col. Edward Loyd of Lillesden, Hawkhurst, Kent, and has issue (see Foster's Peerage, V. Overstone).
