Cripps, Henry William, Q.C., M.A. (late fellow). New Coll., Oxon, 1842, a member of the Oxford circuit, recorder of Lichfield 1852, chancellor of the diocese of Oxford 1883, vice-chairman of Bucks quarter sessions, author of The Law of the Clergy, a student of Lincoln's Inn 18 Jan., 1837, went to the Middle Temple 14 Jan., 1840, where he was called to the bar 8 May, 1840, Q.C. 10 Jan., 1866, bencher 30 Jan., 1866 (eldest son of Rev. Henry Cripps, of Preston, co. Gloucester); born March, 1815; married 25 March, 1845, Julia, dau. of Charles Lawrence, Esq., of the Querns, Cirencester, and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage, Lawrence). :Beechwood, Marlow; 2, Mitre Court Buildings, Temple, E.C.; Oxford and Cambridge Club.
