Coll., London, retd. 1870, nominated for a baronetcy by the Crown 13 Oct., 1883, but has not yet taken out his patent, a student of Lincoln's Inn 6 June, 1839 (then aged 20), called to the bar 22 Nov., 1844 (eldest son of late Thomas Farrer, Esq., of London, dec.); born 24 June, 1819; married 1st, Jan., 1854, Frances, dau. of William Erskine, E.I.C.S.; she died May, 1870, leaving issue; he married 2ndly, March, 1873, Katherine Euphemia, dau. of Hensleigh Wedgwood, Esq. (see Foster's Yorkshire Collection).
