Francis, Henry Ralph, district court judge (south-west district) New South Wales 1869-83, and of the northern district 1861-9, M.A., St. John's Coll., Camb., 1837, scholar and fellow, graduated as third in 1st class classical tripos, a student of the Inner Temple 3 June, 1844 (then aged 32), called to the bar 28 Jan., 1848 (3rd son of Philip Francis, Esq., late of London, and grandson of Sir Philip Francis, K.C.B.,); born 11 July, 1811; married 1st, 11 April, 1839, Beata Lloyd Jones, of Plas Madoc, co. Denbigh, and had issue; he married 2ndly, 11 Feb., 1862, Anne, dau. of Rev. Joseph Cooke, D.D., late of Newark-upon-Trent.
