Hughes, Hugh Robert, M.A., Exeter Coll., Oxon, 1859, major (hon. lt.-col.) 3rd batt. royal Welsh fusiliers 1872-83, steward of the lordship and Crown manor of Denbigh, J.P. cos. Denbigh and Flint, a student of Lincoln's Inn 3 June, 1854 (then aged 19), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1859 (only son of Thomas Hughes, Esq., of Ystrad, co. Denbigh); born 17 Jan., 1835; married 10 Nov., 1864, Susan Marian, younger dau. of Charles Townshend, Esq., of Gladwin, co. Denbigh, and has issue.
