Jones, Joseph Alun, a member of the Northern circuit, practised before superior courts of Cape Colony and defended Tini Maccomo and other chiefs when tried for high treason 1878, sole acting judge of Griqualand West in 1880 and standing counsel to the municipality of Kimberley, educated at Liverpool Coll. and Queen's Coll., Liverpool, a student of the Middle Temple 11 Nov,, 1867, called to the bar 10 June, 1870 (only son of John Jones, of Liverpool); born 22 Dec, 1842; unmarried.
