Lofthouse, Samuel Hill Smith, LL.B., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1869, assistant recorder of Sheffield, hon. secretary to the Bar Committee since March, 1884, a member of the North-eastern circuit, a student of Lincoln's Inn 10 Nov., 1856 (then aged 23), called to the bar 7 June, 1869 (only son of John Lofthouse, late of Sheffield, dec.); born , 1843; married 3 June, 1884, Mary, dau. of T. B. W. Forster, Esq., of Holt Manor, Wilts.
