Malcolm, William Rolle, M.A., All Souls' Coll., Oxon, 1865, assistant medical secretary Colonial Office 1874–83, assistant secretary (railway department) Board of Trade 1870–4, a student of Lincoln's Inn 3 April, 1861 (then aged 21), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1865 (3rd son of John Malcolm, of Poltalloch, Argyll, N.B., M.P.); born 10 Jan., 1840; married 1st, 22 July, 1874, Georgina, sister of Henry, 3rd duke of Wellington; she died 3 Feb., 1880, leaving a son; he married 2ndly, 27 March, 1882, Ruth, youngest dau. of Rt. Hon. Edward Pleydell-Bouverie, P.C., late M.P. (see Foster's Peerage).
