Smith, Cecil, B.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1848, J.P. Somerset, went the Western circuit, chairman Board of Guardians Taunton Union, etc., author of Birds of Somerset and Birds of Guernsey, a student of the Inner Temple 19 April, 1849 (then aged 22), called to the bar 7 June, 1852 (only son of Rev. Cecil R. Smith, of Lydeard House, Taunton, Somerset); born 31 May, 1826; married 28 Sept., 1858, Amelia, dau. of Sir Peter Stafford Carey, of Guernsey; she died 18 Dec., 1880, leaving issue (see Foster's Our Noble and Gentle Families).
