Woodroffe, James Tisdall, B.A., Trin. Coll., Dublin, 1859, mathematical scholar and senior moderator ethics and logic, practised before the High Court at Calcutta 1861-79, first judge of small causes court Calcutta for a short time, a student of the Inner Temple 3 Nov., 1856 (then aged 18), called to the bar 6 June, 1860 (eldest son of Rev. John Nunn Woodroffe, rector of Glanmire, co. Cork); born 16 March, 1838; married 29 Dec., 1863, Florence, youngest dau. of late James Hume, Esq., bar.-at-law and senior magistrate of Calcutta.
