This lovely little flower closely resembles the Swiss Edelweiss, with the difference of the brown spots on its disc. It grows on mountains in the Middle Island. Altitude, 4,000 to 6,000 ft. It flowers in January. Arthur's Pass.
The whole plant is silvery with white wool and shining oppressed tomentum on the foliage, the bright green on the upper part of which make it very lovely. Abundant in Alpine districts in Northern and Middle Islands. Altitude, 4,000 ft. Mount Egmont. Flowers in January.
A small perennial, perfectly glabrous herb, not uncommon in hilly and sub-alpine districts, ascending to nearly 6,000 ft. The Blue Bell of Otago. It flowers in January. Roto-iti, Nelson.

A small tree, 6 to 10 ft. high, everywhere perfectly smooth. This fine plant has nothing of the habit of any other New Zealand species of Senecio, though it is one of the most beautiful. Hab. Northern Island as far south as Taranaki. It flowers in December. Waikomiti.
