Preface to
Tales of Old Matters
All the tales to be told hereafter are true stories personally experienced by me, not something invented. But as they are miscellaneous matters incapable of inclusion in a history book, they are called the Tales of Old Matters. The cause for me to begin writing these tales is my daughter that lived with me, who thirsted to know about olden matters since before she was born.
