Beginning at the junction of present US Route 1 near Hickory, thence on new location in a southwesterly direction by-passing Bel Air on the west to junction with present US Route 1 at Benson.

US Route 40
Relocations

(Hagerstown Area)

Beginning at junction of present US 40 and former US 40 in business section of Hagerstown, thence in a westerly direction on new location for US 40 approximately 2 miles to junction with present US 40 east of Huyett.

(Hancock Area)

Beginning at junction of present US 40 and new Interstate Route 70 about 2 miles east of Hancock, thence westerly on I-70 to interchange north of Hancock with proposed US 40 and I-70, thence on new location for US 40 westerly to junction with present US 40 west of Harvey.

(Piney Grove-Pratt Area)

Beginning at junction of present US 40 and new location east of Piney Grove, thence on new location southwesterly and westerly to junction with present US 40 about 3 miles east of Pratt.

Beginning at the intersection of Jamaica Way (Present US 1) and Longwood Avenue, thence northeasterly over Jamaica Way to Fenway, thence southeast on Fenway across Brookline Avenue, thence reverse direction at "jug handle" onto Park Drive, thence northwesterly on Park Drive to Montford Street, thence west on Montford Street to Carlton Street, thence northwest on Carlton Street extension to Commonwealth Avenue, thence west on Commonwealth Avenue to Boston University Bridge (Present US 1).
