As various unfounded reports have from time to time been circulated respecting the illustrious Swedenborg, the Society established in Manchester for the publication of his writings deem it expedient to publish the following Letter, for the information of those who may be desirous to know something of his character and writings. It was written in the year 1781, and prefixed by the Translator of Swedenborg's work, entitled True Christian Religion, as a Preface to that inestimable book.
