חיפוש m. (חפש) search, use of the root חפש. Pes. 7b we learn מח׳ מציאה the meaning of מצא (Ex. XII, 19) from the expression חפש (connected with מצא, Gen. XLIV, 12), i. e. you must search after leavened bread before Passover, &c.
