פרט m. (preced. wds.) 1) that which is singled out, specification, explicit statement, opp. כלל. Sifra introd., v. בלל B. Kam. 54b (ref to Deut. V, 14) בעלי מפורש הפ׳ מה וכ׳ חיים as the explicit specification (thy ox and thy ass) mentions animated beings, so the general expression (and all thy b'hemah) refers to all kinds of animals (including birds). B. Bath. 123a בפרטן in the detailed account of them, v. כלל. Gen. R. s. 94 (ref. to I0Chr.
