Berks {d. 1883), by Ruth Aune, his wife (d. 1854), daughter of Major-General Andrew Burn, was educated at St. Paul's School, London, and at Trinity College, Cambridge; was curate of St. Dunstan's-in-tbe-Wost, Fleet Street, London, from 1856 to 1859; incum- bent of All Saints', Spitalfields, from 1859 to 1866; on the 24th August, 1866, was consecrated Bishop of Nelson, New Zealand, and resigned 31st December, 1891. His only son by this lady, John Eowan, of G-reenhead, d. 1614, leaving by Agnes Shanks, his wife, an elder son and heir, John Eowan, of Groenhead, m. Janet Andebson, of Govan, co. Lanark, and d. 1089, having had with othtr issue, an eldest son, Eet. Andeew Eowan, who went to Ireland and was inducted to the rectory of Dunagby, diocese of Connor, co. Antrim, 13th September, 1661, and resided at Old- stone alias C'lough, co. Antrim. He m. first, about 1660, a daughter of Captain William MacPhedeis, of Camglass, in the same county, and by her had, with two d:uightors, two sons, 1. William (Captain), of Dcrry, allainted w-ith liis father, by the Parliament lield by King James If, at Dublin in 1689 ; m. Mildred Thompson, and left an elder son, William, of Ri'dimond, Surrey, m. Elizabeth, daughter of Edward Eyhe, of CO.
