THOMAS MAYNE DALY, P.C., Q.C., of Brandon, Mani- toba, Canada, represents the Electoral District of Selkirk, Province of Manitoba, in the House of Commons of Canada, and was firat major of the city of Brandon 1882 and 1884: h. at Stratford, Ontario, Canada, 16th Augnst, 1852; educated at Upper Canada College, Toronto; called to the Bar 1876; appointed Q.C. 1890, and sworn in as minister of the Interior of Canada 17th October, 189i at Stratford, Ontario, 4th June, 1879, Margaret Anuibella, elde.st diughtsr of P. Mona- ghan, Ireland. lie was an officer in the Navy, and d. in South Africa, where he was buried at Cape Coast Castle, leaving issue, an only son, John Cobet Witsox Dalt, i. in Liver- pool, CO, Lancaster, England, in 1796 ; went to Bailybay, Ireland, when a young man, whce he m. Leonora Mayne, of Coatehill, ■who d. in 1839. In 1823, having sold out all his interest in the estate left him by his father, he went to America, settling first at Niagara, Canada, and subsequently at Hamil- ton, in that dominion. He held the positions Ontario, where he settled in 1830, and was at the date of his death, the oldest coroner, magistrate and Lieutenant-Colonel of Militia in the western part of Ontario. He d. Isfc April, 1878, leaving an only son, TH05IAS Mayne Daly^ M.P. for North Perth in the Canadian House of Commons, b. at Hamilton, Ontario, March, 1837 ; m. Helen, daughter of Peter McLaren Fek- GPsoN, of Crieff, Scotland, architect, who went to Canada about 1843. She was b. at Crietf, Scotland, Febrnarv, 1834, and d. at Stratford, Ontario, 2Sth 'July, 18112. He d. at Stratford, Ontario, 4th ' March, 1885, leaving issue, the Hon.
