Mr. Roberts, who was educated at the Sydney Grammar School, was mayor of Sydney in 1879, commissioaer at the Sydney International Exhi- bition, 1879-80, commissioner for New South Wales at the Melbourne Inter- national Exhibition, 1880-1, and at the exhibitions at Amsterdam, 1883 ; Calcutta, 1883-4, London (Colonial and Indian), 1886 ; and Chicago, 1893. He was member of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales for the Hastings and Manning district from 1882 to 1889, and was Postmaster- General from January, 1887, to Jaimai-y, 1889. He was created a C.M.G. in 1882, and appointed a member of the Legislative Council in 1890. Hincngc. The late Charles Warman Roberts, of Idalia, Glenmore Road, Paddington, Sydney, iJew South Wales, m. 19th August, 1815, and by his wife (Annie), had with other issue an eldest son, the present Hon.
