John Howard Angas left England for Australia in April, 184;<, to take charge and develop his father's landed property. In 1854 he revisited England, but returned to Australia the following year and became a well-known breeder of first-class sheep, cattle, and horses. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1871, for the district of Barossa, and resigned in 1875 ; he was a member of the Legislative Council for the city and central district till May, 1894-, when his term of office expired. He is a justice of the peace. Hincagc.
