David Nathan, of Auckland, New Zea- land, b. in London 1816, left England in 1839, arrived at Sydueyl in December of the same year, and early in 1840 proceeded to Kororareka, New Zealand, the then seat of Government. In November, 1841, he finally settled at Auckland, where he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and vice-president of the Auckland Savings Bank. He m. first, at Kororareka, October, 1841, Bosetta, daughter of L. Jacobs, and by her, who d. at Auckland, New Zealand, in May, 1864, he had issue, I. Laueence David, of whom we treat. II. Alfred, b. 5th January, 1856; (h. 25th March, 1884, Emily Clayton, and has issue, Harold Lawi*ence, and Eose Marian. I. Sai'iih, of 39, Qucensborough Terrace, Hyde Park, London, b. 10th January, 1843 ; m. at Auckland, New Zealand, 22nd Jmie, 1864, Elias Bexjamix, of Melbourne, who d. lOtli December, 1870, and was buried at Melbourne, leaving issue, 1.
