His lordship was educated at the Charterhouse and at Durham Univer.sity, B.A. 1851, M.A. 1853, and D.D. 1868 ; ordained deacon 1852, and priest 1853 ; chaplain and censor of Bishop Cosiu's Hall, in Durham University, from 1851 to 1854 ; curate of Walton, co. Somerset, from 1857 to 1858 ; rector of North Tidworth, Wilts, from 1858 to 18G9 ; rural dean of Amesbury, Wilts, from 1868 to 1869 ; and was conse- crated bishop of Grafton and Armidale, 2-lth February, 18G8. Henry Parish, and by lier (who d. 1828) had no issue. His youngest son by his second wife. The Eight Hon. Sir George Jamfs Turner, P.C., a lord justice of the Court of Appeal in Clianeery, h. 1798; was ninth yyrangler 1810, and a fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge. He »i. 19th September, 1823, the youngest daughter of Edward Jones, of Brackley, co. Northampton, and by lier (who d. at The Molt, near Kingsbridge, South Deyon, 1872, aged 7fi) had issue, I. George Eiehard (Eey.), M.A., Cam- bridge, rector of Kelshall, co. Herts, and rector of New Eadnor, Wales; m. Emily Murray Edwards, and d. aged 50, having had issue, two sons and three daughters, of whom two rf. s. p. II.
