Hurrah! for the Red and the Blue.

Though the fears of some folks I don't share,
Still it's all very well to prepare,
In order to show, both to friend and to foe,
That we're able a contest to bear;
Beyond this, if the foeman should land
On our dear little free native strand,
There are hearts bold and true, there's the Bed and the Blue,
Between England and danger to stand.
Then hurrah! for the Red and the Blue,
The gallant, the bold, and the true;
If foemen should come, sound trumpet and drum,
And rely on the Red and the Blue.
Yet, mingled with Ocean's loud roar,
Should the "battle-cry" ring on our shore,
In old England's behoof who would dare stand aloof?
We should fight as we've oft fought before.
Ev'ry heart that was loyal and true
Would join with the Red and the Blue;
So if foemen should come, sound trumpet and drum,
And trust to the Red and the Blue.
Then hurrah! for the Red and the Blue, &c.
